2 day Retreat - What to do with our ego?

What is the Sufi teaching about the ego? Everyone has an ego, and we know that ‘ego-collisions’ can be painful, frightening or even devastating. Sometimes it seems that our ego is like a fire-breathing dragon lurking in the closet, threatening to emerge when we don’t want it to – but how can we bring it under control? Or should we not even try? Can our ego be managed? Are there tools that can help us? This 2 day retreat will involve a combination of exercises, forms of concentration, breathing practices, conversation and Sufi teachings. If weather permits, some work may be done outside.

Practical information
The retreat will be held on Friday April 11 and Saturday April 12 in the Sufi Centre in The Hague, Anna Paulownastraat 78. The programme starts at 10.00; registration open from 9.30 onwards.
The programme includes coffee and tea and one evening meal. Please bring your own sandwiches for the lunch, which we will supplement with a soup.
The retreat is intended for mureeds and brother- and sisterhood members of ISM. Max 50 participants.
